"Life After the Challenge" interview November 21st on The River 99.7

Listen for the Revoy family Wednesday, November 21st at 3:30pm on The River 99.7 for an interview about how they are doing with waste reduction initiatives, composting, and all things "green" after the challenge. Compost Challenge Coordinator Amanda Taylor will also be on air to talk about the two films produced from the project and where you can watch them.

Campbell River Composts!

Here it is! The video you have all been waiting for.

This video is the first of two. A longer version will be available in a few weeks and will be screened at the 2013 Earth Week Film Festival in April.

What is the Challenge?

Six families chosen by a panel of judges are competing in our first-ever Video Compost Challenge hosted by the City of Campbell River and funded by Comox Strathcona Waste Management Service. The six families are trying their hands at composting for 30 days and documenting their experience on video. Their goal: reduce garbage, produce healthy compost and entertain us! The judges will evaluate their progress after 30 days, and one family will win the grand prize: $500 in groceries! The challenge videos will become part of a professionally produced film to air on YouTube, Shaw TV and at film festivals to promote composting and divert waste from the landfill.

This challenge was inspired by the zero waste documentary, The Clean Bin Project, which screened at the 2012 Earth Week Film Festival. To learn more, please visit http://cleanbinproject.com/.
