Week 3 of the Compost Challenge

Things are heating up in Challenge... and in those composters! The competitors have been busy filming everything compost-related... Some have even taken their compost camping!

Edward Ward was heard saying to the other families, "This competition is about me beating all of you! And we hope to teach the rest of the community that composting can be done easily."

The Murphy family shot back with their plan to make a substantial dent in their garbage. "Our garbage weighs 35 pounds this week. Our daughter Faye weighs 30 pounds, so we're hoping to get the garbage lighter than her by the time we are done," said Paul Murphy.

"We are kind of like a compost self-help group," said Rosanne Bains. "Our job is to show people that composting can be fun and easy. Our family is excited to entertain the judges."

"We are collecting compost to feed worms, share some laughs and have fun along the way, being a little 'greener'," said Cathy revoy.

"We've really been working on the plastics thing and recycling as much as we can, but composting is a new opportunity for further improvement," said Kim Thyne.

"I'm really interested in learning about how to use my new composter. I've always wanted one but until this competition, I have had no idea how to use it," added Julina Spetch.
